The rewards of athletic participation are immediate and enduring for Matanzas High School student athletes. We offer a wide variety of extracurricular athletic activities, and our coaches and staff are committed to developing well-rounded student athletes.
While students are involved in our programs, we will assist them in learning valuable lessons through sports to grow not only in the game but in life. We strive to be part of a team comprised of family members, educators, and community partners to assist our young people in achieving their goals while growing into healthy, happy, and productive young adults. We work hard, play hard, and have fun while coming together to reach our full potential as a team!
As a Matanzas student athlete, you should demonstrate pride in yourself as a student, an athlete, and a member of the community at large. As a member of MHS athletic programs you will represent yourself and your family, your teammates and coaches, but most of all, you will also be considered an ambassador of MHS. Striving to be a leader and conducting yourself in a manner to ensure success should be your primary goals.
We thank the parents of MHS for their unparalleled belief in our programs; the impact is immeasurable.
Students must complete the Athletic Clearance process before they can tryout and compete in a sport.
AdventHealth will be providing free student physicals to all Flagler county students grades 6th-12th on Wednesday, May 15th and Thursday, May 16th.
Every individual, regardless of age, must have a ticket to attend an athletic event. All tickets to the event will be pre-sold, and no tickets will be sold at the venue. Tickets for home football games will be available the week of the event.
Tickets to MHS athletics events may be purchased online. All major credit cards are accepted, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Apple Pay. Digital tickets are emailed after purchase and may also be accessed through the GoFan mobile app. Tickets will be redeemed directly from your phone upon entry to an event.
No backpacks are allowed at our high school sporting events, per the Flagler Schools bag policy. All other bags are subject to search. Those who attend with backpacks will be asked to take them back to their vehicles. We ask parents to talk with their students ahead of time so that they can make arrangements for backpacks if necessary.
