I am honored and excited for this career path as an Assistant Principal at Matanzas High School. With 19 years of experience in public education and 16 years with Flagler Schools, I have had the opportunities to learn, develop, and grow.

From 2001–2005, I served as the district health coordinator while teaching both K-12 Physical and Health Education in Homer Central School District in New York. In 2005, I moved to Palm Coast and accepted a teaching position for Physical and Health Education and Head Softball Coach. In 2016-2020, I held the leadership role of Dean of Discipline/Behavioral Interventionist at Matanzas High School.

Educationally, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a Master of Science in Health Education with a concentration in Adaptive Physical Education from the State University of New York at Cortland. I continued my education and earned a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership at Arkansas State University.

As an assistant principal for Matanzas High School, I am extremely grateful for this opportunity.

It is my honor to serve as an assistant principal at Matanzas High School. I am originally from the small town of Live Oak, Florida where I graduated from Lafayette High School as valedictorian. I earned my undergraduate degree in Secondary Social Science Education from Flagler College in St. Augustine. I received my master’s in Education Administration from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatchewan, Canada, where I lived for three years.

My career in education began in 2012 when I worked as a support facilitator for Ormond Beach Middle School, fostering a more one-on-one atmosphere in classrooms. I began teaching mathematics and social studies courses at Atlantic High School in Port Orange, FL from the fall of 2012 to 2016, helping to raise student achievement in several areas. I began working at Matanzas High School in 2019 and have been an instructor in Cambridge’s AICE program, where we have exceeded the national average for passing percentages on student exams. I am now the Assistant Principal of Data and Assessments at Matanzas High School and am excited and proud to serve in this new role for Pirate Nation!
